Does anyone have a favourite technique, steps, materials, etc.?
Last team I coached, we had proper strappers and I actually don't even know who they are to ask.

Nigel, I'm no expert, however the basic steps are: The padding material is positioned a few inches above the knee then the stripping tape is wound round the leg and padding to secure and lock the padding in. Electrical tape is use to unsure that the strapping doesn't come undone.
Basics material requirements for taping legs for lineout lifting are:
Various items are/can be used for the strip of padding material, examples below: Strip of decent carpet underlay Womens tampon - wrapped in medical tape to strengthen it Strip of Foam Cotton pads rolled into a 'sausage' shape then wrapped in medical tape to strengthen it
Alternatively there are lineout lifting supports available Kooga/CCC and a few other kit providers make them and are available from various other webstes such as eggcatcher.com and prodirectrugby.com. Hope this helps a bit....
