| Hi Russ, Lots of pairs work would be good. Access to skipping ropes, evasion belts, ladders for fast feet work would be handy. Work with tennis balls for handling drills. There's a great press-up exercise moving a tennis ball from lhand>small of back>rhand>small of back>lhand for core control. Lying face up-throw ball-get up and catch is also v useful. Indoors is a great opportunity to do or use stuff that you haven't seen since pre-season. Great way of checking their skills and fitness levels too. PW

| Dynamic work such as Ladders, hurdles (SAQ) type work to develop footwork? If you have access to mats in the hall, how about some grippling/wrestling? Handling and decision making - 2v1's, 3v2's.... Basic handling games, including basketball/zone or end ball etc..... Communication practices - being in a closed environment a lot of noise is generated, so effective/efficent communication practices could/should be used. If all else fails - circuit training

| we've played tag & hawick ball. but put in a variation to the tag game. The hall is split into 3 basketball courts - we split the teams into 3 sections - telling each team that they cant leave thier own grids, the ball must pass through each grid and have completed 3 passes within each grid before a score can be made. Doing this certainly helped to ensure all kids got a touch of the ball. We had loads that day!!!.

I'd get hold of a nursery school teacher! they have AWESOME games that you can adapt for rugby- you can keep players smiling & get them sweaty as ... ' using modified nursery games!
