| can anyone help me! at under U13's in a lineout is there a law/rule that states that all forwards must be in the lineout, we have worked on some forwards moves away from the lineout, but other team have stated that all players must be in the lineout i.e 7 vs. 7. I have looked in all the law books etc that i have but can not find it any where. Is this correct?

Where are you playing the game. It might depend on the local governing body laws.
Interestingly one of the TAGs teams I know were told to keep both hands on the ball or be penalised.
Fine in RFU world, but not in WRU world! So some rules are being imported.

Is this correct? The reason you can't find it is because you're being fed bollox.
From the RFU website U19 variations
5.6 Law 19 Line-Out
5.6.1 Minimum numbers. At least two from each team.
Penalty: Free kick.
5.6.2 Maximum numbers. The team throwing in the ball decides the maximum number of players forming the line-out.
Penalty (for the non-throwing in team having too many players): Free Kick.
5.6.3 The line-out extends from 5 metres from touch to 15 metres in-field and parallel with the touchline. Lifting/supporting is prohibited at this age group, i.e. a player may not bind to a jumper until he/she has returned to the ground.
Penalty: Penalty Kick.
5.6.4 There is no longer a requirement to peel close to and parallel with the line-out.
Gope that's helpful- pm me if you'd like any further clarification

Not even in RFU world Dan as it happens.
2 hands on is ASKED for
* as a coaching point (ie better options)
* to help prevent handoffs (which are NOT permitted below U13 in England)
But I concur that some believe 2 hands on is a RFU Ctnm requirement.

| There is a stipulation in the continuum up to U12 (5 in lineout) Youth Rugby covers Under 13 - Under 18 age grades. (In the age grades Under 7 to Under 12 games are played in accordance with the rules of the RFU Continuum.) Youth Rugby is played in accordance with the U19 Law Variations of the iRB and any RFU ELVs in force.
