| Ladies and Gents out there!!! I am a coach for an under 15s team and I am beginning to see injuries occuring more frequently. We carry a first aid kit wherever we go. I have to say that I have found the provision of first aid by other teams as mixed from nothing to a pitchside physio. I have two questions: 1.

| Ignore first attempt!! Ladies and Gents out there!!! I am a coach for an under 15s team and I am beginning to see injuries occurring more frequently. We carry a first aid kit wherever we go but we are always looking to improve what we have. I have to say that I have found the provision of first aid by other teams as mixed from nothing to a pitchside physio. I have two questions: 1. Can anyone recommend a particular kit that they have and which is particularly suitable. 2. What do your club give you in the way of first aid equipment? and how often is it replenished? We all have a duty of care to our charges and I want to find out if we can improve what we have. Des

I'm going to play devil's advocate here, and I realise that this may make me less popular.
If you're a first aider, you should know what should be in your kit. If you're not a first aider, you shouldn't be giving first aid, and if you've got a first aider in your setup, they will have a proper first aid kit. If you haven't got a first aider, you need to get one.

| I was hoping for a more constructive reply. Yes we do have qualified first aiders but there are loads of different kits/prices out there and I am not so complacent that I think we have all we need at the appropriate prices. I was really looking for some suggestions. There are also teams out there who just spray a little cold water from a drinks bottle on any injury!! Who knows, this posting might generate some clubs to think about this issue. The other part of my question was what do the clubs do to support their teams around provision of first aid kit. Thanks Des

We had an external company train 2 from each age groups from U7-U16 they then gave each qualified 1st aider a kit together with a form for ordering any supplies that ran out. Not sure of the contents off the top of my head other than we've just had 1 age group run out of ice gel packs.
I'll check and post a list of the contents.
