Hi,
Just wondering if there is a plan to do a piece on "The Role of the openside Flanker". There is already one for the blindside.
I have recently moved positions to openside and was hoping to get some insight and tips.
thanks

| Jonesy - I should say, I found your document detailing the role of the different positions, on another thread, ages ago, and I have found it very useful. Maybe make it generally available again? It would be very public-spirited of you to do so! Cheers - Ferret

| Here we go again! http://www.betterrugbycoaching.com/rugbyforum/Attachment15.aspx Maybe it would be a good idea if we could add to/alter to this document and make it a live document that all could gain access to? Webmaster would this be possible? You will probably notice that all three front row positions are very detailed this is because I am an ex front row player.

| To be an openside your have to be extremely cardiovascuarlly fit. Also knowing what to do when you hit a ruck is important. If training by yourself, try and get a small tractor tyre and flip that as many times as possible (teaches you to get low and improves upperbody strength). If training with others, the turtle turn game on the website is very good. But you go wrong with going for a half hour run every day
