Does any one have any ideas or tatics, for a defensive line out on/ in your own 22m on the opposition throw.

What have you found the most affective ?

Cheers

Some basic considerations:

1. Sack the jumper as he lands back on the ground (before maul is formed)
2. Have two pods of three 'stacked' at the front putting pressure on the timing or accuracy of throw. 7 and 9 cover back throw.
3. Have a Lifter,Jumper,Lifter,Jumper,Lifter,Jumper,Lifter formation to cover all options - more difficult as L's & J's have to react to where throw is going.

as well, consider

concede the throw but SMASH the catcher/resultant attempt at a maul.
THEN drive maul towards touchline
BUT tail gunner must be fast to make pressure on an OTT ball.
