i am starting to train my squad for upcoming seasons lineouts my jumpers are light tall flankers ,

the crux of my problem having helped out with the age group above me sometimes last season lifting  was refereed so differently  some allowing thigh lifting my preferred choice, some bottom of shorts, and some insisting waist band only   i can not find any difference in u19 rules on lineouts no doubt someone can point me in right direction. also looking at getting for my team    some of these http://www.uksportsproducts.com/Aerial_Supports_(benefits).html   but  dont want to waste money if they cant use them. i helped out with our colts side for a couple of years  a few years ago and they could thigh lift   but i found taping a tedious process

any help would be appreciated

As an age group coach I would see it as my remit to help my players become proficient in the tasks required of them by working on the technical and physical aspects of each area of the game.  using external aids could IMO hide deficiencies, so i would only be looking to utilise these once I was sure that the players had got the techniques perfected such that the aids added to them rather than replaced them, or made up for a deficiency.

didds thanks for replying the crux of my question was are u16s allowed to thigh lift   of course my lads will be trained to do it all 3 ways but to avoid confusion i would like to confirm the correct technique .so to clarify my question does anyone know where i can find out  confirmation on u16 lifting techniques,

obviosley if i cant confirm i will check with ref before hand at games also the external aid of using lifting strap is just cheaper in long run than taping every session as if they are thigh lifting they will have a wedge either taped or otherwise.

thanks bill
