| Hi Ferret My fault, I should have mentioned this is in accordance to Pathways rules (WRU) upto and including u14's cannot pick up. So it will be interesting to see what they say.

| The ELV seminar I attended last night said as long as the scrum half does not move more than 1m from the scrum he is still onside. more than 1m he needs to then retreat the full 5m until the scrum is complete. At u9/u10 the 'defending' SH still stands directly behind the hooker. At u11/12 he can stand at the centre line but still cannot follow the ball. As I understand it.

| Hi Jenko Under Pathway rules, from u11 upwards the scrumhalf can follow the ball at the put in. I've found over the last couple of seasons that depending where you play (and i'm only talking within Wales) you will get little odd rules that people have pulled out from somewhere ie no shortened line outs, whereas infact you can from u11 upwards. What a wonderful game

The continuum and pathways differ greatly. As I understand it in Wales scrum is uncontested until about U14 wheras we start at U10 in England!
Wales are including the pull down of maul ELV in pathways. RFU have excluded it.

| At the moment it is still being deliberated by the powers that be wether or not we will adopt pulling down here in Wales. At the moment however, you are not permitted to pull it down. This is not made clear in any material and had I not attended the forum then I would still be under the impression that it was allowed. I sincerely hope that common sense prevails and that it is perminantly binned, never to be considered again for kids rugby...

Does anyone have access to the "new free kick" laws? I was a bit slow when watching the Super 14 when I was in Japan. They were being played and commented on, but I didn't take any notes. Anyone know?
Cheers

| Steve There are no "free kick" law changes for this 1st August season unless you are already in competition (e.g. S14 and Air NZ cup). These "free kick" laws will finish in these competitions and revert to 1/8/8 laws at the end of their season. That is how I understand it. Dan

| We have just been given a summary from North Mids on the way ELVs apply across our age groups. I have attached it so you can see what we are supposed to be doing... I checked continuum too and it appears to have been updated to reflect ELVs but they neglected to do anything so helpful as track/ highlight the changes - I've attached my U11/12's edit that I put together for my own coaches...
