WRT: early contact and crying and "blood bin" this is of course the benefits of "expecting" a parent/nominated adult to be present during training... tears could be a quick glance to mum/dad/etc who vcan do the "blood bin" bit without it ever becoming a "you are banished to the boo-hoo bin until you stop being so soft you big girlyy wuss" ..

We extended what happens in the senior game, sin bin for a given period of time dependant on age, the other issue we had in the early days of mini contact was crying. We (almost completely) cured that by using the blood bin. If they're crying they must be hurt and thus go into the blood bin. It really did cut down the crying for attention and also the discipline.

What a great idea. I would say that about 30% of my current squad play football on a Saturday and Rugby on a Sunday. Their respect for the game and officials is a credit to them, However I have noticed the odd "But Ref" coming into the games. I will put your idea into practice next year. I might even run one for the parents!!!!!!:w00t:

Here is a suggestion I had from a coach.

What is your opinion?

At the start of the session I reminded the boys of the desired behavior required from rugby players and their responsibilities on the pitch and introduced a system whereby any ill discipline, arguing with referrees decision or amongst each other would result in that player being placed on a "REPORT", which the team managerwould note into a disciplinary book. If a player accummalates three strikes in a session they would then, at our discretion, get an automatic one match day ban. This seemed to have the desired effect amongst all the players and resulted in one of the most enjoyable sessions for all the players whereby everyone took a full and active part, including the coach.
