No mistake touch rugby

A no tackle rugby game requiring constant movement.

This is a great rugby skills and fitness workout using touch tackles only. Instead of contact, the emphasis is on constant movement by attackers and defenders, to crank up the levels of activity and the mental and physical pressure.

Normal rugby rules apply, except as follows:

  • A pass can only be received by a player who is moving. You may want to penalise inactive or "lazy" players with a physical activity.

  • If a player is touch tackled, the ball is played through the legs, rugby league style. The defence must always retire three metres from the touch tackle, but can move forward as soon as the receiving player touches the ball.

  • The ball is turned over if there is an infringement, such as a dropped ball or a forward pass, or if a player steps into touch. Restart the rugby drill as for a tackle.
