Rugby warm up drill to boost handling skills

This is a quick rugby warm-up drill to try in your next rugby coaching session. The aim is to help your players brush up their handling skills.

Ball trick rugby drill

  • Get a player in a crouching position to hold the ball off the ground between his legs, with his left arm behind his left leg and his right arm in front of his right leg.

  • Ask your player to swap hands without the ball touching the ground.

This means the left hand comes in front of the body and the right hand goes behind the right leg to catch the ball.
